LAKE PROVIDENCE, La., April 2.--The Governor's warrant for the execution of Joseph Walker, charged with and found guilty of the murder of Major Gray on the 11th of October, 1879, reached the Sheriff of this parish about two weeks ago, and the news of the approaching hanging spread throughout the parish.
