Athena til Danmark

Athena Marguerite Françoise Marie (født 24. januar 2012 i København) er datter av den danske prins Joachim og prinsesse Marie. Hun er nummer ni i arvefølgen til den danske tronen, og har tittelen komtesse av Monpezat.

Athena kom til verden på Rigshospitalet i København. Ved fødselen, som fant sted kl. 08.27, var hun 49 cm lang og veide 2 930 gram. Fødselen ble tradisjonen tro etterfølgende markert med salutt fra Batteriet Sixtus på Marinestasjon København og Kronborg slott i Helsingør kl. 12. Tre dager senere, 27. januar, ble prinsessen for første gang vist frem for pressen og andre fremmøtte, da foreldre og barn forlot Rigshospitalet.

Prins Joachim hadde i forveien sønnene grev Nikolai og grev Felix med Alexandra, grevinne av Frederiksborg, og grev Henrik med prinsesse Marie.

Hennes navn ble, i henhold til tradisjonen i det danske kongehuset, kunngjort ved dåpen i Møgeltønder Kirke 20. mai 2012.
