Vogdes, First Infantry, now on leave of absence at Brooklyn, has been ordered to report to the Superintendent of the General Recruiting Service, New-York, to conduct a detachment of recruits to the Department of Arizona. On the completion of this duty he will join his company.

ST. PAUL, Jan. 20.--In the joint Legislative convention to-day the roll was called for the tenth joint ballot with the result that Windom fell to 48. The changes were: Billson from Kindred to Davis, Gotzian and Merriam to Cole, Mortenson from Wilson to Cole, Sampson from Dunnel to Hubbard.

CHICAGO, Jan. 20.--A special dispatch from Matamoros, Mexico, says: "News has been received here of a desperate battle near Tehuantepec between the Seventh Battalion and the Tehuantepec Indians. The Indians lost 80 men killed and many wounded. The troops lost 50 men killed including their Lieutenant-Colonel. The Indians were routed."
