Katrín Jakobsdóttir

Katrín Jakobsdóttir (født 1976) er en islandsk politiker på Alltinget for Vinstrihreyfingin – grænt framboð (Venstrebevegelsen de grønne), som hun har ledet siden 2013.

Hun ble høsten 2017 den tiende islandske statsminister på ti år og nasjonens andre kvinnelige statsminister. Hennes parti dannet en koalisjonsregjering sammen med Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn og Framsóknarflokkurinn.

Etter en bachelor i islandske språk i 1999, tok hun en mastergrad i samme tema i 2004 på en avhandling om den islandske kriminalforfatteren Arnaldur Indriðason.

Hun var minister for Utdannings-, forsknings- og kulturdepartementet (Island) fra 2009 til 2013. I samme periode ledet hun departementet for nordisk samarbeid. Dette var i den tiden Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir (født 1942) var statsminister.

Hennes tvillingbrødre Ármann Jakobsson og Sverrir Jakobsson (begge født i 1970) er professorer ved Háskóli Íslands (Islands Universitet).
