Matt Serra

Matthew John Serra (født 2. juni 1974) er en tidligere amerikansk profesjonell mixed martial-artist og brasiliansk jiu-jitsu-utøver som konkurrerte for Ultimate Fighting Championship. Han fungerer for tiden som UFC on FOX-analytiker. Serra beseiret Pete Spratt, Shonie Carter og Chris Lytle på vei til å bli The Ultimate Fighter 4-weltervekt turneringsvinner. Han fikk UFC weltervekt Championship umiddelbart etter, og ble den første av bare tre som vinner begge utmerkelser (sammen med Forrest Griffin og Rashad Evans). I brasiliansk jiu-jitsu, holder Serra en sølvmedalje i ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship.

Serra begynte å praktisere kampsport i tidlig alder, først studerte han kung fu. På 1990-tallet begynte han å trene brazilian jiu-jitsu under Renzo Gracie og fikk sitt svart belte i mai 2000, den første amerikaner til å gjøre det under Renzo. Og Serra er utrolig nok en av to som har klart å bekjempe Georges St. Pierre.
