Lafferty of the company's information products division said many users prefer receiving facsimiles on plain paper. LEAD: The management of the California Jockey Club and the Bay Meadows Operating Company, which trade together on a paired basis, said preliminary results showed they had won a proxy fight against a dissident shareholder group. The company operates the Bay Meadows race track.
