BIOSHIELD TECHNOLOGIES AGREES TO BUY AHT

BioShield Technologies Inc., which makes antimicrobial coating products, has agreed to buy the AHT Corporation for $20 million in stock to get AHT's software that allows doctors to send prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. BioShield Technologies will pay $1.75 of BioShield common stock for each share of AHT, which is based in Tarrytown, N.Y. That is 13 percent below AHT's closing price of $2 on Friday, although 87 percent more than AHT's all-time closing low of 93.75 cents on May 1. AHT's shares have fallen 68 percent this year, and it has lost money for the last eight quarters. Shares of BioShield fell 50 cents, to $11.50, while AHT declined 50 cents, to $1.50.
